-
Import: Click on Contacts Import in the main menu and begin uploading your CSV file.
-
Select a separator: If you know the separator used in your CSV file, select it under Advanced CSV Options. Tip: MS-Excel uses a semicolon in the German version, LibreOffice Calc uses a common (default).
-
Assign tags (optional): You have the possibility to assign tags to the contacts you want to import. This is especially useful if you want to import multiple CSV records, each of which belongs to different customer groups.
-
Assign fields and columns: Since Quentn does not know which column of your table belongs to which contact field, you must now assign these fields. Quentn will show you the first 10 records of each column in a separate window. Can you see the individual columns of your table? If not, click on Previous and select a different separator. Now assign the individual columns to the corresponding contact fields. Please note that you should assign email addresses to the Primary Email field.
-
Fill out the survey: If you plan to send emails to the contacts you want to import, click "Yes" for the question Do you plan to send promotional emails to these contacts? Please provide us with as much information as possible about your record. The more information you provide, the more likely your record will be approved quickly. Then click on Next.
-
Process: Wait until the progress bar has reached 100%. You will now be forwarded to the Import Status page, where you can see the current status of your import. Wait for approval. As soon as your import has been approved, the status will change to Approved.
As soon as we have received your data, a Quentn employee will analyze it and approve or reject it if necessary. Please wait until the import is complete before writing to your contacts. Contacts will initially have the status "unknown"; only after approval will the email status change to "confirmed". It is important that you provide as much information as possible about the origin of your data in the questionnaire. Data of unknown or dubious origin will always be rejected. Please also note that we may ask you to provide us with the access data of your external provider as part of the check. This may be necessary in particular for large data records (>10,000 contacts).
Import status and its meaning
There are four statuses for imports:
Waiting for verification: your import has been received. We will receive a notification so that your import can be checked by an employee as soon as possible. Until then, the contacts will retain the email status "unknown" and you will not be able to write to them.
Approved: Your import has been approved and the contacts have been released, so they now have the email status "Confirmed (Import)" and you can contact them.
Completed: You have indicated that it is a duplicate import or that you do not want to send promotional emails to these contacts. We do not receive a notification, the import is therefore not checked by us and the email status of the contacts remains unchanged.
Rejected: Your import was rejected after review. You have received an email with the reason for the rejection.
