It is possible to connect Facebook Lead Ads with Quentn starting from a Basic account. This allows you to respond to new leads or send lead ad data to Quentn.
Connect Lead Ads with Quentn
Drag the Meta element into your campaign and open it with a double-click.
You will see a message stating that no accounts have been connected yet. Click the link in that message.
Alternatively: Click “Settings” and “API Info.” Then click the “Facebook Business Accounts” tab.
Click the green “Connect Facebook Account” button.
A Meta window will open. If you are already logged in to Facebook, you will be asked whether you want to continue with your profile.
In the next step, define which pages can be accessed.
Finally, review the access request and click Save.
Renew the API token regularly
The token for the connection to Facebook automatically expires after 3 months. You therefore need to manually renew the connection on a regular basis.
To do this, go to Settings -> API Info in Quentn and click the Facebook Business Accounts tab.
Here, you can see your connected accounts, when the connection was created, which campaign it is being used in, whether the connection test was successful, and the expiration date of the API token.
Once the token has expired, click “Actions” and then “Re-authorize Data Access.”
Event: Receive Lead Ads
To use this event to its full extent, you first need to grant permission in Meta so that leads may be sent, or explicitly give Quentn access to the leads.
After that, we recommend also transferring the Lead ID. To do this, you’ll need a corresponding contact field.
Grant permission in Meta
- Go to your Meta Business settings.
- Navigate to Integrations > Lead Access.
- Click Assign CRMs and check the box next to our app.
Create a contact field for the Lead ID (recommended for Lead Ads)
To transfer the Lead ID, you first need to create a contact field for it.
Click “Contacts” in the menu and then “Contact Fields.”
Now create a contact field of the type “Text” and name it, for example, “Facebook Lead ID.”
This step is not mandatory, but we recommend it to ensure clean data transfer.
Configure the Meta event element
Drag the “Lead Ads” event element into your campaign and open it by double-clicking.
Now select the Facebook page (if you have connected multiple pages).
Next, select the form you want to respond to.
Then assign the contact field you just created under “Lead ID.” You can also assign additional fields, provided you have created them as contact fields: ad name, ad set name, campaign name, form name, and the creation time of the Lead Ad.
Data that Quentn cannot map, such as survey results, will still be transferred and stored in the contact’s notes.
Please note: Contacts received from Facebook Lead Ads cannot be created with a confirmed status. Double opt-in via Quentn is mandatory!
History
In the event element, you’ll find the “History” tab. Here, you can see all leads that the element has received.
You can also find a complete history of your leads and conversions under Settings -> API Info -> Facebook Business Accounts.
Click the blue “Lead History” button to view all leads and conversions you have received from Meta.
Action: Send Lead Ads
To optimize the delivery of your ad, it is recommended to send data back to Meta. This allows Meta to understand which target group has reached the conversion goal, regardless of whether GET parameters were transferred or which device was used for the purchase.
To do this, drag the action element into your campaign and open it with a double-click.
Select the business.
Now select the pixel to which the data should be sent.
- Next, define the conversion event and the action for your Facebook conversions.
- Then select the contact field where the Lead ID can be found. This is optional, but recommended by us.
What if your token does not have access?
Unlike the API token, the individual pixel token does not expire.
However, it can happen that the token of the selected Facebook account does not have access to the selected pixel.
In that case, you’ll receive a corresponding error message in the action element when saving.
Possible causes include:
- The pixel belongs to another business, and your permissions are not sufficient.
- The pixel is not configured for Conversion API access.
- The permission level of your Meta account token is not sufficient.
What you can do:
- Go to “Events Manager” in Meta Business Suite and select the dataset name.
- Select the pixel.
- Click the “Settings” tab in the top right.
- Scroll down to the “Conversions API” section -> “Set up direct integration.”
- Click “Generate Access Token.”
- You then enter this token in the pop-up under “Meta Access Token” in Quentn.
- If you have already closed it:
- Open the action element and click “Reconfigure.”
- Select “Manual configuration.”
- Enter the Pixel ID and the token you created.
History
In the “Send Conversion Event” action element, you’ll find the “History” tab. Here, you can view the history of sent conversions.
Example Use Case
You receive Lead Ads and let them complete the double opt-in in Quentn. In the sequence that follows, you pitch your offer — in our example, the goal is to convince people to attend a webinar.
Once the goal has been reached (the reader has either received a tag through the integration between Quentn and the webinar tool or a tag has been added manually by you), the contact leaves the sequence and is sent to Meta using your pixel.
Disconnect the Integration
To disconnect the integration again, click the settings in Facebook.
There, your business integrations will be displayed.
To remove Quentn Business, click the button.
Confirm that you want to remove Quentn Business.
