Sometimes newsletter recipients don't necessarily want to unsubscribe from a newsletter, but just no longer want to be informed about certain topics.
You can now make this possible for your readers with a Pro account or higher.

Preparation
The topics are linked with tags in Quentn. Before you create a topic, the tag must exist. You can do this quickly under Contacts -> Tags.
Create topic
Click on Emails and unsubscribe topics in the menu.
You can create topics here.
- Give your topic a title and optionally a description.
- You must then assign a tag to the topic. The following applies: There can only be one! Only one tag can be assigned to each topic*.
- Now assign campaigns to the topic.
- Note: Several campaigns can be assigned to a topic, but each campaign can only be assigned to one topic.
* If several tags were to be assigned, confusion would quickly arise. What if only one tag is withdrawn but the other remains? Will the campaign then be stopped or not? This regulation was created to avoid such hurdles.
Settings for the unsubscribe page
Topics
Here you can choose whether you
- only show the recipient the topics they are currently subscribed to so that they can unsubscribe from unwanted topics
- show the recipient all the topics you have so that they can subscribe to another topic if necessary
When subscribing and unsubscribing, the corresponding topic tags are changed.
Campaigns
The stored campaigns for the contact are also stopped. You can now also select whether the campaign and statistics should also be reset.
Forwarding
Here you enter a URL to which the contact should be forwarded if they have unsubscribed from all topics. This allows you to freely determine on your own website whether you simply confirm the unsubscription or show them another video, make an offer so that they can subscribe again or, or, or, or...
What it looks like for your contact
At the top, the contact has the option to unsubscribe completely from your newsletter by clicking on "Unsubscribe".
The topics from which they can unsubscribe are listed at the bottom.
Edit topics
In the overview of unsubscribe topics, you can also edit or delete them.
To do this, click on the respective button next to the topic.
Contacts in the topic
You can even find out how many - and more importantly: which - contacts are assigned to the topic. Simply click on the button next to the topic.
Notes on subscribing and unsubscribing
How do I register for a topic?
You are registered for a topic if you have the corresponding tag for the topic. This tag can be assigned when importing contacts, via the API or in a campaign. Alternatively, you can register for other topics on the unsubscribe page - provided that all available topics are displayed to the customer.
Starting campaigns
Please note that contacts who have subscribed to a topic are not automatically placed in a campaign - unless this campaign starts with the event "Tag(s) changed" and the corresponding topic tag.
Why can't I specify the forwarding page when someone has unsubscribed from a topic?
Here is the problem again: We would have to set it up so that a forwarding page can be set for each topic. You would then have a free choice as to whether you always design this page to match the topic. We don't see the content!
What if someone has unsubscribed from several topics? Which forwarding page is then prioritized? There would be too many options that would make the application unnecessarily complicated.
